Our Treatment Modalities

IFS Therapy

Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy helps you to heal the relationship you have with yourself and cultivate compassion for every part of you. IFS helps you to better understand the meaning behind your behavior and shed old stories based in trauma you may be replaying in your daily life. IFS can be used in the individual, couple or family context.

EMDR Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is one of the most researched and recommended treatment modalities for trauma of all kinds. Moonrise therapists often combine EMDR therapy with IFS in order to help your brain heal from trauma as you strengthen your relationship with yourself.

Attachment-Based Therapy

All of the Moonrise therapists have extensive training in Attachment Theory and will use this lens in the therapy room with individuals, couples & families. Awareness of your attachment style & how it impacts your current relationships can help you to heal and change how you respond to your environment.

*Please note that each therapist has different qualifications and trainings and each will implement different treatment modalities based on your individualized needs. Inquire with your therapist directly if you’d like to use a specific therapeutic modality. Check out each individual therapist’s credentials here.

Our Philosophy of Healing

Here at Moonrise we use a strengths-based approach to therapy and believe that people are geared toward healing and growth. Research shows that therapy provides a unique environment that allows you to process your emotional experience while telling the “story” of what’s happened to you; this is what allows your brain to heal and grow. This unique environment is only cultivated when there’s a strong therapeutic relationship and emotional safety to rely on. Moonrise therapists do this by focusing first and foremost on cultivating an emotionally safe environment, while gently folding in therapeutic techniques to help you gain awareness and grow.

Our therapists aren’t here to tell you what to do with your life or what decisions to make, rather they are here to help you learn to repair the relationship you have with yourself and explore options and resources you have on your journey towards health and well-being. Our therapists take a nonjudgmental, compassionate approach and walk along-side you on your healing journey.
