Jayden Jackson

Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate

Jayden is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). She received her masters in clinical mental health from Colorado State University. Jayden uses a holistic therapeutic approach and believes there are many aspects of a person’s life affecting their mental health. She values a strong therapeutic relationship with her clients structured around respect, self exploration, and empowerment. Jayden specializes in working with individuals and couples, focusing on sexuality, relationships, and identity formation. She has experience helping clients navigate ethical non-monogamy/polyamory and explore their individual and relational sexuality. She puts great importance on providing services that are social justice-minded, trauma-informed, and LGBTQ+ affirming.

Before pursuing a career as a therapist, Jayden worked in community development for immigrants and other marginalized communities in Boston. It was in this role that her passion for people and mental health blossomed.

Fun facts:  Jayden grew up in California and has lived in Arizona, Alabama, Ireland and Massachusetts. When she’s not working, Jayden enjoys being outside with friends and family hiking, floating down the Poudre, reading, or snowboarding. She is also an avid sports fan and concert enthusiast!

Jayden’s Therapeutic Approach

Her belief is that the creation and maintenance of personal boundaries as well as analyzing the stories that we, family/friends, and society have told us are vital to understanding and finding solutions to many issues clients face. Her hope is to help you reconnect to yourself and deepen your sense of self. Some research-based modalities that Jayden uses include Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, CBT, and Internal Family Systems. She maintains, however, that the relationship between client and therapist is the most important aspect of therapy.

Jayden’s Specializations

  • Couples and Relationships

Jayden helps couples create passionate and fulfilling relationships by bolstering friendship, creating shared life meaning, and working through the most challenging conflicts. She recognizes that relationships come in all shapes and sizes and is LGBTQ+, polyamory, and kink informed and affirming.

  • Sexuality

For many of us, sexuality is wrapped up in shame, guilt, and/or trauma. Our sexuality is first and foremost our own and we have the choice to invite others into it when and how we want to. Jayden helps individuals reclaim and own their sexuality by exploring past relationships, boundaries, or lack thereof, as well as narratives surrounding our bodies. Her goal is to help you reconnect to yourself and find confidence and security in your body.

  • Grief

The loss of a loved one or relationship can be debilitating. While we may never "get over" our loss, Jayden is experienced in helping people learn to walk with their grief rather than being consumed by it. It takes time, and the process is messy, but there is hope.

"Above all, my goal as your therapist is to walk alongside you and remind you that the unique person you are is worthy of love and respect. There's space for you here."
