I believe that every person is beautiful, unique and deserves support in facing life’s challenges. I use a strengths-based approach to therapy and believe that people are geared toward healing and growth. As a basis of therapy, I use a family systems approach. This approach maintains that we are all interconnected; relationships, families and societal influences all impact who we are, and lasting change comes from a deeper understanding of these connections. I also believe in the importance of cultivating the relationship we have with ourselves. While promoting self-compassion, I help clients better understand themselves, their needs, and their deepest aspirations.

I specialize in EMDR therapy to help clients of all ages heal from past disturbing life experiences. EMDR is an empirically-based practice that has been proven to be effective in reducing the impacts of psychological trauma. EMDR uses the brain's natural ability to heal itself and helps to reformulate negative beliefs while reprocessing maladaptive memories. In short, EMDR helps to speed up the process of recovery and healing for those experiencing distressful symptoms after a negative life event.
